stamátios

contemporary furniture meets visual artistry

stamatios fragos, montreal artist, has always had a curiosity for objects and the way they fit into the built environment. as a child, when he would accompany his father in construction, he would mimic him by playing with wooden building blocks and assembling miniature models. a fascination with visual art followed, placing him at the intersection of art and design.

inspired by geometry and modularity, his work emanates classic design principles with a modern approach that challenge traditional functions and forms. working by hand makes it so that he is always in a state of experimentation and exploration with materials - pushing the boundaries of the future life of objects.

some of his works can be found at hintercabin-x, hintershelter, & hinterhideout-x

pia metni

exploring the simplicity of the line

self-taught visual artist from montreal, adepte of minimalist and balanced spaces, pia’s works seek to master the simplicity of the line, the balance of its composition and the symbiosis of the raw materials used to define it, such as linen, canvas, leather or paper.

the line, a form which dictates its movement like cubism or bauhaus and which brushes against the concepts of infinity, like the endless points of the circle, molds itself to the inexhaustible gaze of the structure of the thought of whoever contemplates it. the simplicity, elegance and balance of the composition are part of pia’s artistic journey.

the monumentalism of large formats romanticizing her creative gaze, pia also designs custom orders for large-scale projects.

mardiros

rational and timeless

the studio behind mardiros is a one man show; david strives to design both rational and timeless home goods for everyday living - David plays mainly with steel and wood to create innovative objects. one of his pieces was inspired by nothing more and nothing less than a… taco; he then proceeded to create a taco tortilla shaped multi-use hanger, its actually beautiful. whats not to love about that. in pursuit of designing long lasting and durable products. a pragmatic approach is taken to incorporate design features that elevate the overall functionality of their goods while adding to their aesthetic appeal.
