purpose

why do we do what we do? let’s start with you:

slow living is essential to getting back to our core; who we are as human beings and what our instincts crave — sunlight seeping through wooden shutters pouring into open spaces, the sway of the forest through glass walls, calming tones and simple lines. by surrounding ourselves with less, our minds have room to breathe, space to think. comfort and reconnection are found in the simplicity and intentionality of design merging with nature, and that’s exactly where we want to take you.

why are we here? community is everything.

we understand that a company is nothing without the humans behind it. from the founder to the carpenter. from the architect to the partners we work with. building relationships with likeminded people, including our guests, is a huge part of what we stand for. from the time you book to the time you check out, we aim to take you through a journey of stories; the inspiration behind the spaces themselves, the products and furnishings we choose to feature and the stories of the people behind them. giving artists and creatives a gallery, if you will, to share their work with hinter visitors. a stay with us is much more than just that. we want our guests to feel part of something bigger than all of us.

how do we make an impact? let’s talk about our planet:

while your wellness is a high priority, we recognize that our planet needs help. neutrality is not enough. companies should be giving more than they take. that in mind, we plant 10 trees for every booking. it might seem small, but each of our spaces plants approximately 1500 trees per year, more than a house will ever take. we explore concepts and economies that can help the planet. we also seek like-minded companies that share our beliefs so we can run eco-friendly spaces filled with sustainably-made products.

welcome to this new time, where inside meets out and outside meets in, where giving back is not just a philosophy, it’s everyone’s mission.

the future:

we like to experiment, test the waters, explore what lies ahead. we are continuously testing new venues and launching different initiatives that support our planet and communities. either through the creation of hinter.live, which supports canadian artists, launching NFT galleries at our spaces to support up and coming digital artists, exploring web3 in hospitality, to the creation of our own community formed by individuals that look for human connection, education, and well-being. we like to explore on building a future where healthy innovation exists while taking care of communities and our planet.

we think you’ll like it here.

short glimpses that tell our story, what we stand for, but most importantly, the people behind what makes up hinter.
